Open Access

Anyone can make markets on the BULK Network. There are no private feeds, VIP queues, or negotiated latency tiers. Every participant uses the same order types and passes through the same consensus, speed-bump classification, deterministic ordering, and matching engine.

Uniform Maker Window

BULK’s Taker Speed Bump gives maker-only transactions a 25 ms window before taker-capable transactions become eligible for execution. ALO orders are immediately eligible because they either add liquidity or are rejected. Market, GTC, IOC, modify, and conditional order transactions receive the same 25 ms delay for every participant and ingress path. After the delay, eligible transactions enter the same deterministic shuffle and matching pipeline. The maker window is a public protocol rule, not preferential access for selected firms.

Signing at High Frequency

For high-frequency order submission, use a keychain (agent wallet) for signing transactions. Agent wallets are authorized sub-keys that can sign on behalf of your main account without exposing your primary private key. They support the full order lifecycle: place, modify, cancel. See Signing and Agent Wallets for setup.

SDKs

SDKs for high-frequency market making are in active development. Check back for updates or join the Discord for early access.

Rate Limits and Validator Mode

If you find the default API rate limits too restrictive for your strategy, consider running a BULK validator in follower mode. A follower node replicates the full network state locally, allowing you to read and write without participating in consensus. This gives you:
  • Direct local state reads with zero network latency
  • Higher throughput for order submission
  • Full order book and account state without API polling

Latency and Co-location

The majority of BULK Network nodes are currently based in Europe. For the best latency today, co-locate with the European cluster. When regional books go live, co-locate with the market flow:
  • Crypto - Asia
  • Commodities - United States
Regional books are designed so that liquidity follows the trading population. The matching engine runs locally in each region, with cross-region settlement handled by the consensus layer.
